According to experts, it is nowadays one of the best string quartets in the world. Quartet, which was founded and is led by a Romanian Corina Belcea, was established in 1995 in London at the initiative of students from the Royal College of Music. The musicians play excellent string quartets by Schubert, Janaczek, Bartok and Britten. The Pole Krzysztof Chorzelski who plays the viola is a group member from the very beginning. He graduated from The Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and Royal College of Music in London. In 1992, he won International Tadeusz Wroński Solo Violin Competition. At present, he is professor at Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.

Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival took place, for the first time in history, in 1997 and commemorated the 170th anniversary of death of the creator of Symphony No. 9. It became a permanent and important element of the cultural life of Europe. Europe for Festivals, Festivals for Europe EFFE (Gent) appreciated its importance and admitted it to the Association in October 2001.

The programme of every edition of the Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival (held for the first 7 years in Krakow, and since 2004 in Warsaw) is different and shows achievements of European music in an interesting and varied manner. Every edition shows the music of Beethoven from different perspectives and allows the listeners to perceive his inspirations, the impact of his music on creators from different eras and the place of Beethoven in the world of contemporary art and in contemporary world alike.
