“Piosenka jest dobra na wszystko” – Greatest Songs of the Past Century by the Opera Academy of Warsaw

We are pleased to invite you to the Opera Hall of the Centre for the Meeting of Cultures in Lublin on 3 February 2019 for an exceptional concert named “Piosenka jest dobra na wszystko”.

Participants of the “Opera Academy - Young Talents Development Programme” of the Teatr Wielki - Polish National Opera will perform the most beautiful and popular Polish songs from the 1960s and the interwar period. The concert will be accompanied by the Opera Academy Orchestra. The performance, with the colorful scenography of Izabella Chełkowska, will include the greatest hits of the most outstanding Polish songwriters in new, magnificent arrangements, such as: “Ta ostatnia niedziela”, “Prześliczna wiolonczelistka” or “Niech żyje bal”. We guarantee that this evening will be full of unforgettable memories, not only music-related ones. An additional important part of the show, apart from the colourful visuals, will be the participation of various acclaimed radio presenters, who will take us back to the world of old radio broadcasts. Thanks to them, traditional Polish songs are still widely popular today.

The concert in the Opera Hall of the Centre for the Meeting of Cultures in Lublin is part of the main programme of the Opera Academy of the Teatr Wielki - Polish National Opera, which - apart from regular, intensive workshops and masterclasses conducted by eminent personalities of the opera world - also includes domestic opera concerts (e.g. with Radom Chamber Orchestra and Sinfonia Varsovia) and the ones performed abroad (e.g. with Oper Frankfurt). These concerts, most often held in cooperation with Polish cultural institutions and the Teatr Wielki - Polish National Opera, give young students of the Opera Academy a chance to present themselves to a wide audience, and at the same time are a valuable and inspiring experience on their career paths.
