‘DESIGNING EVERYWHERE’ EXHIBITION
Exhibition
Free access
Exhibition available at the Centre for the Meeting of Cultures in Lublin from 28 September 2018 to 30 November 2018.
The ‘Design Everywhere’ exhibition was organised to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Faculty of Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. The exhibition presents various objects, prints and applications designed by teachers and graduates of the Faculty of Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. The collection consists of about ninety projects, such as manufactured goods, applied graphics, websites, applications and urban space projects.
Although the exhibition shows only works created within the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, it is also a review of post-war Polish design. Czesława Frejlich and Magda Kochanowska, curators of the exhibition, chose almost exclusively the works of graduates or teachers associated with the university. The only exception are a few prototypes from the 1950s and 1960s. The projects were created along with the concept of the Faculty of Design. Thanks to these works, it is much easier to understand the subsequent achievements of the designers.
Visitors to the exhibition will be able to discover objects dating back to 1954-2017, including classics of Polish design, such as Syrena Sport car designed by Cezary Nawrot, the CPN (Headquarters of Petroleum Products) logo by Ryszard Bojar, Włodzimierz Pańków’s TV set Vela. The exhibition also includes works by internationally successful young artists, such as Tomek Rygalik's armchair project Tulla, Pesa Gama locomotive by Bartosz Piotrowski or the Ergo Line water system by Katarzyna Borkowska and Tomasz Pydo for Cellfast.
